On June 12th we were able to meet with TikTok. Read about it here.
TikTok has surged in popularity in the last number of months, and it is where “the Gen Z party is” according to some. 37% of users are aged 10-19. The short video site, however, has some concerned about the “adult” sexualized content that can be viewed, without even setting up an account. As well, there are concerns about predators contacting children through the app. Ask TikTok to put in controls to help children be safe.
Have you or your family felt unsafe while using TikTok – with unwanted pornography exposure, inappropriate sexual messages from other users, or other predatorial behaviour? Share your story with us.
Choose Change will use your stories as examples of how these companies still have work to do to protect their users. All stories will be received in confidence and your name/username will not be disclosed.
